Industrial bakery and standard company-wide ERP solution under construction
Strategic IT implements Microsoft Dynamics NAV and SI Foodware for Harvest Time Bakeries
Deurne, 25 May 2010 - At the end of the summer Harvest Time Bakeries will start using Microsoft Dynamics® NAV combined with SI Foodware® in its new industrial bakery in Lommel, Belgium. Together with partner, Strategic IT, Harvest Time Bakeries is implementing a standard company-wide ERP solution which will enable Harvest Time Bakeries to fully meet the latest demands and requirements set by the food industry now and in the future.
The innovative Harvest Time Bakeries is a young and dynamic company. Erwin de Vos and Frank Visscher are setting up a completely new industrial bakery to manufacture part-baked bread in modified atmosphere packaging. With this new bakery, Harvest Time Bakeries wishes to respond to the market for part-baked bread rolls, where there is a demand for high quality rolls.
Fully standard company-wide ERP solution
In addition to an industrial bakery, Harvest Time Bakeries also needs a solid company-wide ERP solution so that they can work as efficiently and effectively as possible. Some of their employees have considerable experience with SAP, but regard SI Foodware as a pragmatic solution. Combined with the user-friendly Dynamics NAV they have a solution that fully meets the latest demands and requirements for the food industry and tailor made software amendments are not necessary. In choosing Strategic IT, they have chosen a solution that matches the dynamic and flexible character of the new business.

Under construction
The financial part of Dynamics NAV and SI Foodware is already operational and is currently being expanded with digital invoices and digital order confirmations. At the end of the summer, when the construction of the manufacturing facilities is complete, Harvest Time Bakeries will also start using the manufacturing part of Dynamics NAV and SI Foodware, including product specifications and lot tracing. Additionally, an interface will be made to connect with the logistics service providers for transport and storage of finished products. At the moment, the project scope is quite limited, but because Dynamics NAV and SI Foodware are so flexible, the system can easily be expanded in the future.
